Free-agent right-handed pitcher Doug Fister has agreed to a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers, a source told ESPN on Sunday, confirming multiple reports.

The $4 million deal includes a club option for 2019 and was first reported by NBC Sports Boston.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have exercised their $14.75 million option on outfielder Andrew McCutchen.

McCutchen, a five-time All-Star and the 2013 National League MVP, signed a $51.5 million, six-year deal in 2012 that included the option, which had a $1 million buyout attached.
